Sri Aurobindo Kendra, Purulia

This ashram has been created with another object than that ordinarily common to search institutions not for the renunciation of the world but as a centre and field of practice for the revolution of another kind and form of life which would in final end be moved by a higher spiritual consciousness an embody a greater life of the spirit.

A prospective youth started Sri Aurobindo Kendra (Centre) in a house at B.T. Sarkar Road Purulia town on 15th August 1970 to develop spiritual consciousness, to practice integral yoga in Sri Aurobindo and the Mother’s way of teaching to develop one's inner being. This centre is for all caste and religion who aspire for the Divine Life.

This Kendra registered as a trust on 20th November 1986. Registered office of Trust and the town centre are at B.T. Sarkar Road, Purulia. The centre is situated in a building having about 36 decimal of land with boundary wall. There is Matri Mandir with a prayer hall (“Mayer Ghar”), selling counter, library, and a research centre of Integral Education (kindergarten and post kindergarten level), in this premise.

The Ashram Centre is situated at the southern part of Purulia town at Wilcox Road where sacred Relics of Sri Aurobindo has enshrined on April Darshan 1998. The first stone of Ashram centre laid on 24.04.1994 at 10 a.m. This Ashram centre having about 4 Acre of land with a nice pond at its north side having 2 Acre of area. A part of aforesaid land about 2 Acre covering with boundary wall where sacred Relics Mandir, 3 roomed Sadak Nivas, a small guest House and a big well, toilet, bathroom etc. are constructed. The total plan of Ashram complex is under construction. Here few ashramites reside in Sadhak Nivas. A huge balance work is yet to be done and for which a remarkable financial assistance is required.

At 3 p.m to 6 p.m         …………………….   For evening darshan, self prayer and meditation

In this program the ashramits bhaktas and visitors are taking place.

Library:

From 8 a.m to 12 p.m and 3 p.m to 6. p.m

Evening Study Circle:

Every  Thrusday at 6.10 p.m

Incense Sticks manufacturing department

Manufacturing herbal agarbatti brand  “Aspiration” and incense sticks brand “Devotion”.

Weekly Program:

Morning study circle: Every Sunday at 9.15 a.m to 10 a.m

Collective meditation: Every Sunday at 10 a.m to 10.20 a.m

Darshan days & Special Observation days:

Observe sincerely the Darshan days and others special observation days in both the centres as fixed by Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Pondicheery.

Swadhyay Program:

Observe self study program twice in a year in March and September throughout a day.

Lecture & Discussion

Accomplish lecture and discussion program time to time in ashram Kendra and town centre and other education centre and villages in Purulia district.

Publication

Publish monthly bulletin naming “নিবেদন” (Nibedan: Offering) on first day of every moth. We publish “মায়ের আহ্বান” (Mayer Ahabhan: Call of The Divine Mother) partika on the birth day of The Mother and Sri Aurobindo also. This Kendra got responsibility to publish “আদর্শ পিতামাতা" (Adarsha Pitamata: Ideal Parents) and “আদর্শ শিক্ষক" (Adarsha Siskhak:Ideal Teacher) booklets which has been sincerely completed.

Selling counter

Remain open every evening for selling the books published by Sri Aurobindo Ashram Pondicherry, pictures of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother, Agarbatti (manufactured at the Ashram centre) etc.

At 7.30 a.m to 10 a.m & 5 p.m to 8.30 p.m………………Keep open “Mayer Ghar” for Darshan, self prayer and Mediation.

Library

At 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.

Education centre: (Research Centre of Integral Education)

There is an education centre running in the premises naming “Sri Aurobindo Education Centre” since 1986 in “kindergarten section”. Total student straight 135 and teaching staffs are 11. Here, we follow sincerely the integral education of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother.

We arrange a physical education day for the students of the education centre in the month January of every year.
